The Huntridge Theatre, located at 1208 E. Charleston Boulevard, opened in 1944 as part of the Huntridge Neighborhood housing development, built in 1942. Designed by renowned theater architect S. Charles Lee, the Streamline Moderne style building was the premiere theater of the time. During the nearly 50 years of its operation, the Huntridge hosted many famous personalities promoting their latest films, including Abbott and Costello, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Jerry Lewis, Marlene Dietrich and Vincent Price. Currently the building is vacant.
The Huntridge Theatre is listed on the state and National Register of Historic Places.
