FREE UPCOMING EVENT: Seniors can meet with a local attorney for 15 minutes on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m.at the East Las Vegas Community / Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. Space is limited, and participants will be seen on a first come, first served basis.  Participants must live in Clark County and be 60 years of age or older to qualify to see an attorney.  Light refreshments will be served

The Senior Citizens Law Project provides free legal counsel and assistance to Clark County residents age 60 and older.  Donations are accepted.  Clients are responsible for applicable filing fees and other court costs. Read the news release for more information.

The Senior Citizens Law Project presently provides advice and assistance in matters that include:

• Simple Wills (the law project does not prepare Living Trusts)
• Advance Directives (Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care)
• Power of Attorney (General and Special)
• Long-Term Health Care Planning Issues
• Consumer Disputes and Small Claims Instructions
• Landlord/Tenant Disputes
• Social Security Problems and Other Public Entitlements
• Homesteads
• Termination of Joint Tenancy
• Affidavits of Entitlements
• Intervention of Elder Abuse Matters
• Legal Advice, Information and Referrals

This office does not presently handle:

• Traffic Citations
• Living Trusts
• Criminal Matters
• Bankruptcies
• Fee Generating Cases
• Guardianships
• Malpractice Cases
• Divorces
• Real Estate Transactions

If you need an auxiliary aid or special arrangements, please notify us when making an appointment.  Senior Citizens Law Project counselors also make visits to home-bound seniors when necessary.
