The intersection of Alta Drive and Desert Foothills Drive will close to vehicle, pedestrian and cycling traffic in early February. The closure, scheduled for approximately 10 months, is necessary to complete infrastructure work for development expansion. See the map.
Alta Drive will close at Vista Run Drive in The Vistas village and Desert Sunrise Road will end just north of Paseo Mist Drive in The Paseos village. Desert Sunrise Road and Paseo Mist Drive will remain open as access points to The Paseos.
Cyclists, runners and walkers using the “Downtown to Red Rock” trail will be rerouted through The Vistas village via Vista Run Drive. Detour signage will be in place.
“We recognize the Downtown to Red Rock trail as one of the valley’s most popular amongst recreational enthusiasts,” said Tom Warden, senior vice president of community and government relations for The Howard Hughes Corporation, developer of Summerlin. “Our crews will work diligently to ensure a timely completion of this project. Until then, we hope valley residents will enjoy seeing some new parts of Summerlin via the detoured route.”
