The city of Las Vegas has taken an aggressive approach to dealing with its budget over the last few years to ensure the city remains financially stable. Sound fiscal decisions, including conservative spending and making cuts when necessary, have helped the city retain its bond rating and remain fiscally sound even as revenues decline. All along, the city has balanced the need to maintain high customer service levels, and in several cases has been able to restore or add services, including:

• Adding building inspections for residents and the building industry seven days a week 
• Adding weekend part-time park maintenance staff  to make sure your special events are memorable 
• Employees saving more than $1.4 million in utility bills over the last year, freeing up funds for more city services.
• Restoring work hours to the city’s Animal Control Unit

The restoration and addition of services were a direct result of feedback from residents and our own internal reviews.
