The Building and Safety Department provides reasonable controls for the construction, use and occupancy of buildings to ensure public safety. To do this, the department issues building permits, schedules project inspections and enforces various building codes.

Services & Information

The Department of Building and Safety is responsible for:

the administration and enforcement of building codes as adopted by the City Council
issuing building permits, including Annual Facility permits
- Permit Fee Estimator
providing plans check status
scheduling project inspections during specific stages of the building process
inspecting and testing materials, reviews plans and permits for construction activities in public rights of way
responding to code violations
