The Building and Safety Department provides reasonable controls for the construction, use and occupancy of buildings to ensure public safety. To do this, the department issues building permits, schedules project inspections and enforces various building codes.

Please note the drafted 2012 Building Codes are under consideration for code adoption to be heard by City Council in September 2014.
