Event To Beautify Vegas Heights Neighborhood And Community Center Will Bring New Luster To Hub Of Family Activities
Volunteers Called To Pitch In

Volunteers are urged to join the city of Las Vegas and community partners on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an event to beautify the Vegas Heights neighborhood and the United Fire Fighters of Southern Nevada community center located at 1201 Miller Street. Volunteers and the city’s Rapid Response team will move through the area to pick up large items that are in need of disposal; clean empty lots; paint curbs, fire hydrants and light poles. A senior gardening project will also get some TLC during the event.  Lunch will be provided for volunteers and attendees.

“This beautification and cleanup are just one of many projects that we have planned for the community. We will continue to offer opportunities for residents to pitch in and take pride in keeping these historic neighborhoods looking good,” said Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow.

The event will involve an impressive collaboration of community partners including: Principium a non-profit organization, United Fire Fighters of Southern Nevada, Goshen, Las Vegas Printers, The Embracing Project, XS Entertainment, Doolittle Senior Center, ACORN, Mario’s Westside Market, 10,000 Kids, Nevada Community Foundation, KCEP 88.1 FM, TWC Construction, Premier Painters, Carpets ‘n’ More, Bell Technologies, Norton Arts, Dunn Edwards and The Appreciated Painter.
