Summerlin Parkway Rehabilitation Project Continues
Paving Project To Add Third Westbound Travel Lane From U.S. 95 To Buffalo Drive

An ambitious project to repave Summerlin Parkway is underway with crews working double shifts to complete the $2 million improvement project as quickly as possible.

Temporary traffic lane restrictions and temporary ramp closures can be expected as crews repave Summerlin Parkway from U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard, proceeding west to the 215 Beltway which is a distance of approximately six miles. In addition to removing and replacing the pavement on Summerlin Parkway, a much-needed third westbound travel lane will be added from U.S.95 to Buffalo Drive to improve traffic flow.

Traffic lane restrictions will be in effect in work zones according to the following schedule:

  • Now through 8 p.m. tonight: Eastbound Summerlin Parkway is reduced to one lane of travel from the 215 Beltway to just east of Town Center. The eastbound Anasazi and Town Center on and off-ramps will be closed to traffic. The Anasazi off-ramp is now open to traffic. This part of Summerlin Parkway and the Town Center Drive ramps will reopen by 8 p.m. Suggested alternate routes are Rampart and Durango.

  • Starting at 8 p.m. tonight, through 8 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 22: Eastbound Summerlin Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel from east of Town Center to Buffalo. The eastbound Rampart and Durango on-ramps will be closed to traffic. The Durango on-ramp will be open to traffic from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and reopened by 4 p.m. No work is scheduled to take place during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

  • 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 through 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28: Westbound Summerlin Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel from Buffalo to Town Center. No access ramps will be affected during this phase of work.
  • 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 through 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29: Summerlin Parkway will narrow to one travel lane in each direction between the 215 Beltway and Town Center. No access ramps will be affected during this work phase.
  • 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29 through 8 p.m. Friday, May 30: Eastbound Summerlin Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel from west of Town Center to Durango. No access ramps will be affected.
  • 8 p.m. Friday, May 30 through 8 p.m. Saturday, May 31: Eastbound Summerlin Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel from Rampart to Buffalo. No access ramps will be affected.
  • 6 a.m. Saturday, May 31 through 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1: Westbound Summerlin Parkway will narrow to one travel lane in each direction from U.S. 95 to Buffalo and the Buffalo off-ramp will be closed.

This improvement project is being managed by the city of Las Vegas Department of Field Operations. Southern Nevada Paving is the contractor. The entire project should be completed on Sunday, June 1.
