City of Las Vegas Office of Communications Wins Four Silver Communicator Awards
Prestigious Awards Recognize Creative Excellence For Communications Professionals.

The city of Las Vegas Office of Communications received four silver “Awards of Distinction” from the International Academy of the Visual Arts. With more than 9,000 entries from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The Office of Communications received an award in the Print Category for an annual report called “Sustainable Las Vegas,” which highlighted the city’s efforts to create a sustainable community, and how residents can get involved.

KCLV Channel 2, the city of Las Vegas’ government access television channel, received awards in several film and video categories. Two of the awards, in the Self Promotion and Public Relations categories, were for a video that highlighted the city’s efforts to be a sustainable community, which was presented during the World Leadership Awards in London. KCLV also received an award in the Cultural Category for a video about art in downtown Las Vegas, which featured interviews by gallery owners and artists.

"These awards are among the most prestigious in the nation for our type of work," said Communications Director David Riggleman. "I'm very proud of the level of service we provide the people of Las Vegas."

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 200+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. The past year’s 14th Annual Communicator Awards received more than 8,500 entries from companies, organizations and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
