KCLV Channel 2, the city of Las Vegas government access television station, will air an emergency preparedness special during the month of September, beginning today, Sept. 3. The 30-minute program, hosted by Nancy Byrne, provides information on how to prepare for and respond to emergency situations. September is National Preparedness Month. It is an effort encouraging individuals to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, communities and businesses.
This special program will have the latest on the H1N1 virus, when the flu vaccines should be available and which segments of our population will get priority for the shots. In addition, viewers will get tips for emergency kit preparation, how best to exit the home during a fire, and how to care for pets during an emergency.
The program will air multiple times during September. Viewers can check weekly schedules of KCLV programming online at www.kclv.tv. Initial air dates include:
- Thursday, Sept. 3, at 3:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 5, at 6 a.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 7, at 8:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 12:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 2:30 a.m.
