City Of Las Vegas To Hold Supplier Outreach And Workshop Event
Event Open To Local Suppliers Of Goods, Services Interested In Doing Business With The City

The city of Las Vegas will be holding a Supplier Outreach and Workshop event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center located at 250 N. Eastern Ave. This event will include opportunities in the morning for local suppliers to attend a series of “table topics” workshops, which will address subjects such as supplier registration, understanding Nevada purchasing law, becoming certified as a minority, woman or disabled veteran owned business, and city sustainability initiatives.  Suppliers can choose up to six different workshops to attend, depending upon their needs.

In the afternoon, attendees can meet with staff members who purchase products and services for the city. Staff from the city’s Purchasing and Contracts division will also be available to discuss the city’s needs and upcoming procurements with potential suppliers. Category listings will be available at each table, so attendees can speak to the correct staff members.

“This Supplier Outreach and Workshop event is geared toward helping bring the city department staff face to face with suppliers interested in doing business with the city, enabling them to market their products and services,” said Kathy Rainey, manager of the Purchasing and Contracts division.  “This is a great opportunity for suppliers who want to do business with the city of Las Vegas.”
