Experience a lunchtime change of pace and brown bag it with Beethoven and Ravel at the Downtown Cultural Series Nekochan concert on Friday, Oct. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. in the jury assembly room at the Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse, located at 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Nekochan includes four accomplished classical musicians including: Naoko Taniguchi, a violinist who studied music in Japan; Tianna N. Harjo, a violinist from Reno; Mert Sermet, a cellist who hails from the plains of Iowa; and Laraine Kaizer-Viazovtsev, a violinist originally from Peoria, IL.
Each concert is also preceded by a free legal tip from the Clark County Bar Association. Bring a lunch to enjoy during the concert. Lunch is also available for purchase at nearby restaurants or the café inside the courthouse.
The cultural series concerts offer downtown professionals and others the opportunity to get away and enjoy a little free music and culture for lunch.
This Downtown Cultural Series performance is sponsored by the city of Las Vegas. Future free performances at the courthouse will include David Fenimore portraying Woody Guthrie on Nov. 20. The public is also invited to enjoy a free outdoor performance of folk music by Kim McKee and Ken Willson on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Centennial Plaza downtown at 401 S.
