Sam’s Club and the city of Las Vegas are teaming up to make sure Ward 5 families have lots of holiday cheer this season. On Wednesday, Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow was presented with a $1,000 check from Sam’s Club. Sam’s Club assists local communities by contributing monies on a monthly basis to various non-profit groups and organizations. Councilman Barlow was selected for his efforts to invite the entire Ward 5 community to Lorenzi Park’s re-grand opening and also to provide seniors with outside activities and prizes. Councilman Barlow plans to use the monies for his annual Ward 5 Toy Drive, senior holiday events and more.

“Through this generous donation from Sam’s Club, we will be able to ensure people of all ages in Ward 5 have something to celebrate this holiday season,” Councilman Barlow said. “Especially during these tough economic times, this donation will go a long way to help families have a wonderful holiday and happy New Year.”
