Description of damage:  Downstairs bedroom gutted, fire spread outside window up exterior of combustible siding home, into upstairs bedroom, to roof and attic. Smoke throughout the house.

General information about the incident:   Five of the ten people who live in the house were home when the fire started. Fire investigators believe the fire started in a downstairs bedroom and spread up the outside of the house to the roof. Firefighters had the fire under control in a few minutes. Other family members arrived on scene as the fire department was attacking the fire, the family members tried several times to enter the home. Warned to leave by firefighters, they continued to try to enter and had to be restrained by fire investigators and police officers on scene. They were distraught about the fact that their house was on fire. The American Red Cross arrived on scene and was working with the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
