Sprinting Into The Holidays Fun Walk With Dogs Offers Fun Fit Way To Benefit Goodwill Of Southern Nevada
Santa, Vendors And Spirit Of Giving Add To Unique Holiday Experience For Families

 

Sprinting into the Holidays Fun Walk with Dogs will give participants the opportunity to help those in need and a fun way to burn off some holiday calories. Residents are invited to join Ward 4 City Councilman Stavros S. Anthony and his dogs Jessie and Lexie in this fun, fit way to give back during the holidays. The one-mile fun walk (with or without a dog) will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 9 a.m. at Majestic Park, 3997 N. Hualapai Way (at Alexander Road). Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  The previously scheduled 5K Run has been canceled.

Participants of all ages can pre-register for $20 at www.active.com. Registration is $25 at the event. Walkers will receive a Santa hat and candy cane. All proceeds from the event will benefit Goodwill of Southern Nevada.

Bring your camera to take a photo with your pet and Santa, who will be on hand for the event.  Charitable donations of gently used items will be accepted by Goodwill.  Pet care items will also be collected for the local animal shelter.  Cell Phones for Soldiers program will accept old cellular phone to be recycled. Local community vendors will offer cocoa, coffee and breakfast items for sale.

There is a limit of one dog per person. Each animal must remain on a leash. All dogs should wear a current rabies tag and be current on all vaccinations. Please do not bring dogs in-heat or that may be a threat to others. Event officials reserve the right to refuse aggressive animals. Participants are asked to clean up after their pets. A parent or guardian must sign the liability waiver in order for children under 18 years of age to participate. Call 229-2524 for more information.
