Two toddlers, ages one and three years, were taken to University Medical Center after they fell into a backyard swimming pool in the 1900 block of West Mesquite Avenue just after 2:00 this afternoon. When two units from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue arrived on scene, they immediately took the two to UMC, which is just a short distance from where the incident took place.
Initial reports are that the two were in the water for several minutes. Firefighters and paramedics said the two were breathing on their own when they were taken to the hospital. Their condition at this time is not known.
How the two were involved is not known. Firefighter’s main concern were to get the children to the medical facility as quickly as possible after they arrived on scene and let police investigate as to what led to the incident.
