General information about the incident:  Staff was notified by the smoke alarm system of a fire in a guest room on the ninth floor.  A maintenance worker was the first one on scene and noticed a small fire in the bathroom of the guest room.  Two security personnel arrived a few seconds later and found a few towels on the bathroom floor on fire.  They took a small waste basket, filled it with water and doused the flames.  There was very minor damage to the bathroom.  Moderate smoke filled the hall; the ninth floor was evacuated for approximately 45 minutes as smoke was evacuated.  Fire investigators believe the fire started as a result of careless smoking.  The occupants of the room had already checked out.  There were no reported injuries.  The fire was ruled accidental.
