General information about the incident:  Fire dispatchers received several calls that smoke was filling the apartment building which is a senior citizen facility.  Firefighters found smoke in the building on arrival coming from apartment 50.  Firefighters went into the apartment and found a small fire in the closet of the bedroom; the fire was out within two minutes after arrival.  The occupants who had evacuated the building were able to return to their apartments within a half hour.  No one was home in the apartment where the fire occurred.  The exact cause of the fire could not be determined.  There were no indications the fire was intentionally set.  Smoking material was found throughout the apartment, careless smoking could not be ruled out. No one was seen running from the scene as firefighters arrived.  Las Vegas Fire Investigators returned to the apartment Monday night with investigators from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Homicide unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to look at the scene once again.  The result of that investigation: the cause remains undetermined, careless smoking could not be ruled out.
