Additional Town Hall Meetings On Proposed Expansion Of Redevelopment Area Scheduled
Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency Will Also Offer Information And Answer Common Questions And Concerns

 

Several additional town hall meetings have been scheduled to get community input on the proposed expansion of the redevelopment area. The Las Vegas City Council will host the meetings.

The city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) is looking to extend the benefits of redevelopment to areas of Wards 1, 3 and 5. The RDA is seeking the community’s input to ensure future redevelopment meets what the community wants and needs. The Redevelopment Agency uses new property taxes from new development – called tax increment – to invest in the community, attracting new private investment and new jobs.

The meetings will be held at various times and locations. Additional meetings are being scheduled for Wards 3 and 5. The currently scheduled meetings will take place:

Ward 5

Tuesday, July 13, at 6 p.m.
Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St.

Ward 1

Tuesday, July 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
LVVWD, Mead Rooms, 3700 W. Charleston Blvd.

Thursday, July 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
YMCA, Classroom 2, 4141 Meadows Lane

Tuesday, July 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Kaplan College, Room 157, 3535 W. Sahara Ave.

Thursday, July 29 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
West Charleston Library, Lecture Hall, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) is looking to extend the benefits of redevelopment to areas of the Historic Westside. The RDA is seeking the community’s input to ensure future redevelopment in the area meets what the community wants and needs. The Redevelopment Agency uses new property taxes from new development – called tax increment – to invest in the community, attracting new private investment and new jobs.

Information on various aspects of redevelopment will be presented at the meeting including:

  • What is included in the existing redevelopment area.
  • The proposed expansion of the redevelopment area.
  • Answers to common questions and concerns.
