Ward 4 Councilman Stavros S. Anthony is inviting residents to join him for a Back-to-School Fair and Movie in the Park on Friday, Aug. 27, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The upcoming festivities will take place at Bruce Trent Park, 8851 Vegas Drive.

"A fun family event is planned, with free school supplies to be distributed while they last," Councilman Anthony said. "I encourage everyone to attend and enjoy the movie and community gathering on this last Friday before school begins again."

The movie, "Planet 51," rated PG, starts at dusk. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and blanket. Free light refreshments will be provided while supplies last. Food also will be available for purchase. School supplies may include spiral notebooks, notebook paper, pencils, pens, erasers and glue sticks. Cricket Communications and Republic Services are sponsoring the event, along with the city of Las Vegas.
