Las Vegas firefighters responded to a duplex fire at 1112 S. 10th St. (LV Blvd/Charleston) at 1:26 a.m. Friday. A mattress caught fire in the bedroom of a one-story duplex. Flames and smoke were showing when firefighters arrived; they had the fire extinguished in just a few minutes. The fire caused $25,000 damage, mostly confined to the bedroom. Fire investigators believe the fire is accidental, starting in the mattress; careless smoking could not be ruled out. Three people are displaced because of the fire. There were no reported injuries.
