The grand opening of the new Fire Station 107 in Sun City Summerlin is scheduled for June, and to celebrate off-duty Las Vegas Firefighters will play a softball game with Sun City Summerlin. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 11 a.m. at 2215 Thomas Ryan Road in Sun City Summerlin.
The Sun City Summerlin Softball League is made up of seniors, at least 55 years in age who live in Sun City Summerlin.
Throwing out the first pitch for the game will be Mayor Pro Tem Stavros S. Anthony, who is also the councilman for Ward 4 where the new fire station will be located.
The seniors feel this is a good way to welcome the firefighters into the community and have them participate in community activities.
“This is a great way for our personnel and the citizens of Sun City to relax and get to know each other,” said Fire Chief Mike Myers,
The grand opening for Fire Station 107 is planned for Tuesday, June 19 at 10 a.m. A four person paramedic engine company and a two person EMS paramedic rescue unit will operate out of the station.
