Corporate Challenge, the largest amateur athletic competition in the state of Nevada, draws to a close Saturday, May 19, with a day of fun, competition and community celebration at Centennial Hills Park. Tug-o-war finals for all divisions will begin at 9 a.m. in the park's sand volleyball pits. Award ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the mobile stage adjacent to the sand volleyball area. A raffle will be held at noon. The public and participating companies are encouraged to bring refreshments and picnic in the park. There is no charge to attend any of these activities. The park is located at 7101 N. Buffalo Drive, just south of West Elkhorn Road.
With approximately 44 teams entered this year, competition has been lively since it began March 3. Zappos, IGT and Corporately Challenged teams currently lead in their respective divisions. Spectators are always welcome to attend Corporate Challenge activities at no cost. The 11-week Corporate Challenge competition is a healthy way for employees to stay physically active, build teamwork and friendships, and become more at home in the community as they participate in the 32 events held at 26 locations throughout the city. Corporate Challenge fosters company pride, corporate wellness and unity, and has done so every year since 1985. Many of today's most successful local companies and organizations have been involved in this annual activity for many years.
