A new traffic signal at Lewis Avenue and Main Street is scheduled to be turned on to the full red, yellow and green operation mode beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29. This signal is being activated in conjunction with the recent opening of the new Las Vegas City Hall, as another way to improve access for visitors to the building.
The $93,000 signal construction was funded as part of the new City Hall project. The Lewis and Main intersection sees about 24,000 vehicles per day as well as hundreds of pedestrians. The new signal will provide a safe crossing for pedestrians and improve vehicular mobility in the downtown area.
