The city of Las Vegas will officially open a new fire station to serve the Summerlin area in Ward 4 at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19. The new station is located at 9398 Sundial Drive.
Mayor Pro Tem Stavros S. Anthony, who represents Ward 4, will be joined by Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Chief Mike Myers and representatives from the Sun City/Summerlin community to open Fire Station 107.
The cost of the station is approximately $4.3 million. It is a 7,800 square-foot, two bay building. One engine and one rescue unit will be housed at the station. Six paramedics, six firefighters, three captains and three engineers will be assigned to the station.
Opening ceremonies will include the traditional uncoupling of a firehose, performances by Sun City’s Silver Tones singing group and the flying of a huge American flag from the extended ladders of two fire engines.
The contractor on the project is Richardson Construction. Following Tuesday’s opening ceremonies, refreshments will be served while supplies last.
