Roofing adhesive caught fire while construction workers were working on the roof at Clark High School Saturday afternoon. Fire dispatchers received several calls at 1:59 p.m. that thick black smoke was coming from the center of the roof of the school at 4291 Pennwood Ave.
Firefighters from Las Vegas and Clark County arrived on scene in a few minutes and extinguished the blaze. The fire was confined to the roof on the outside damaging some of the newly laid roofing material. There was no damage to the interior of the school. Many units were back in service in less than 20 minutes. Construction workers were permitted to return to the worksite to repair the damage.
There were no reported injuries.
