The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the park ambassador volunteers at the Wednesday, Aug. 1, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.
The city’s park ambassador program is made up of volunteers who freely give their time to make sure that city parks are providing the amenities and services residents have come to expect. The ambassadors serve as extra sets of eyes and ears on the lookout for maintenance issues and assist those visiting city parks. Councilman Steven D. Ross will recognize these volunteers for all of their hard work.
In addition, Councilman Ross, will recognize the Girl and Boy Scouts of America for both the organizations’ years of service to the youth of Las Vegas.
Also, Councilman Bob Beers will recognize the August Citizen of Month, Randy McGhie. Randy is a local business owner who has been a large part of organizing the Tour de Summerlin race that annually raises money for local charities.
