Work is under way on new roadway improvements on Ogden Avenue, between Las Vegas Boulevard and 11th Street.  As part of the project, a short section of 8th Street, between Fremont Street and Ogden Avenue, will also be reconstructed. Construction is expected to continue through Jan. 11, 2013.
           
The work will consist of full depth removal and replacement of the road section, including the pavement and the underlying base section.  The reconstruction is required due to accelerating pavement deterioration.

Motorists are advised to use Stewart Avenue or Carson Avenue as alternative east-west routes.  

Las Vegas Paving Corporation is the contractor. City of Las Vegas Department of Operations and Maintenance personnel are managing the project. Funding for this project is provided by the city of Las Vegas. The estimated cost for this project is $750,000.
