Las Vegas firefighters responded to an auto fire inside the garage of a one-story wood frame/stucco house at 10520 Shoalhaven Drive at 1:36 Sunday afternoon. Within a few minutes firefighters arrived on scene and were able to remove one of two cars parked inside the garage. The burning car in the garage was extinguished within a few minutes. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading inside the living area of the home.

One automobile, part of the garage and a golf cart were damaged by the fire. Damage was estimated at $15,000.

The occupant told fire investigators she tried starting the car in the garage and it caught fire. She tried putting it out with a garden hose, but was not able to put the fire out. 

Two pets inside the house were not injured.
