Las Vegas fire investigators are looking into the cause of a mobile home fire this morning on the city’s eastside. There were no injuries during the incident.
Firefighters from Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County responded to the Villa de Oro mobile home park, 4541 E. Owens Ave. (Owens/Lamb) at 6:54 Monday morning after fire dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls that a mobile home was on fire.
The double-wide mobile home, with a large concrete block wall garage attached, is situated at the entrance of the mobile home park and was used as the office and maintenance facility for the mobile home park. Currently the facility is vacant. A new manager was recently assigned to the park and was planning to move in.
Firefighters had the fire under control in less than 15 minutes. No other mobile homes in the park were affected.
The fire destroyed the garage portion of the building and gutted the inside of the mobile home. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
