Starting Wednesday, Feb. 6, and continuing through the next four weeks, there will be construction of pedestrian crossing improvements on Decatur Boulevard, between Vegas Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. The work will include modifications to a median island, including construction of a pedestrian island, extending electrical power to new streetlights, installation of north- and southbound flashers, and appropriate delineation and signage.
Most of the work will require a single lane to be closed in each direction. However, closure of an additional lane may be required periodically, but those closures will be restricted to the hours between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to minimize travel impacts. The single lane closures may be kept up during overnight periods in order to protect work zones.
Drew Asphalt is the contractor. City of Las Vegas Department of Public Works personnel are responsible for design and implementation of the project and Department of Operations and Maintenance staff will oversee the construction. Funding for this project is provided by the city of Las Vegas.
