Ward 1 City Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian will join officials from Advanced Healthcare and The Boyer Company to break ground for a new 33,000-square-foot skilled nursing facility at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21. The groundbreaking will take place on Tenaya Way just north of Cascade Valley Court, and south of Mountain View Hospital.
The facility is expected to be completed in early 2014 and will bring more than 90 new jobs to the city. Advanced Healthcare operates a similar facility in Clark County. The project is being developed by the Boyer Company, one of the largest full-service real estate development firms in the Western United States, and construction is scheduled to begin by the end of March.
“I’m thrilled that Advanced Healthcare and Boyer will be building this facility in Ward 1,” Councilwoman Tarkanian said. “Not only will this project bring construction and permanent jobs to the city, it will also provide much needed services for our senior population.”
Advanced Health Care specializes in short term nursing and rehabilitation after a hospital stay and before the patient returns home. The facilities offer 24-hour nursing care and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.
Staff with the city’s Department of Economic and Urban Development assisted in guiding the project through the permitting and development process.
