City Council To Recognize Helldorado Parade Winners
Annual Parade Had Several Outstanding Entries

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the outstanding entries in the Helldorado Parade at the Wednesday, June 5, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.

The Helldorado Parade includes hundreds of entries that come together to celebrate the city’s western roots. Best overall entry, top equestrian entry and most creative are some of the categories that will be awarded at the meeting.

In addition, Councilman Steven D. Ross is scheduled to recognize National Missing Children’s Day. Every year the National Missing Children's Day poster contest provides an opportunity for schools, law enforcement and other community organizations to engage children and their parents in informative discussions about the problem of missing children and how to prevent it.

Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow is scheduled to recognize the June Citizen of the Month, Patricia Cunningham. Cunningham has been a fixture in Ward 5 and is well known for her local radio show.

Finally, the City Council will also recognize the ACTION team, a group of employees who have put in outstanding work at the city of Las Vegas. This month’s team is responsible for merging city of Las Vegas and city of North Las Vegas jail operations and includes employees from North Las Vegas.
