Two neighborhood meetings have been scheduled to provide information and get community input on the proposed expansion of the city of Las Vegas redevelopment area.
The city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) is looking to extend the benefits of redevelopment to areas of Wards 3 and 5. The Redevelopment Agency uses new property taxes from new development – called tax increment – to invest in the community, attracting new private investment and creating new jobs.
Property owners do have the option to opt out of being part of the redevelopment area expansion.
The currently scheduled meetings will take place:
• For Ward 5 - Tuesday, June 25, at 6 p.m.
Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St.
• For Ward 3 - Thursday, June 27, at 5 p.m.
Italian-American Club, 2333 E. Sahara Ave.
