Las Vegas Boulevard will close to traffic from Garces Avenue through Clark Avenue downtown beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, and reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30. During the closure, Las Vegas Paving will remove and replace the asphalt on Las Vegas Boulevard at the intersections of Garces, Bonneville and Clark avenues.
Motorists are encouraged to obey road closures and follow temporary detour signs. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Bridger Avenue to Main Street or Maryland Parkway. Northbound traffic will be routed to Fourth Street at Charleston Boulevard. Gass Avenue also will remain accessible.
The paving is part of two downtown roadway projects – the Downtown Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement project and the Bonneville and Clark One-Way Couplet Phase II. Bonneville and Clark avenues, which currently are one-way from First Street to Las Vegas Boulevard, will be made one-way as far east as Maryland Parkway in mid-October when the project is complete.
