Starting Thursday, Feb. 13, and continuing through the next 12 weeks, new roadway improvements will be constructed on Decatur Boulevard, between U.S. 95 and Lake Mead Boulevard.
Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. A minimum of two lanes in each direction will be kept open during peak morning and afternoon hours. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Milling and paving activities will occur between the nighttime hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., during which times traffic may be restricted to one lane in each direction.
Preliminary work was completed last year, and consisted of improvements to sidewalk areas to meet federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The current work consists of installation of traffic signal interconnect conduit, removal and reconstruction of deteriorated areas of pavement, median island modifications for improved traffic flow and safety, median island landscaping upgrades, full width structural pavement mill and overlay, and roadway striping.
Motorists are advised to use Jones Boulevard or Rancho Drive as alternate routes.
