LVFR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEAM ASSIST AT AUTO ACCIDENT
Team Assisted Clark County Fire Department

The Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Hazardous Materials Response Team responded to an automobile accident on S. El Capitan Way near W. Tropicana Ave at 8:21 Friday morning at the request of the Clark County Fire Department.

The accident involved a pick up truck that was being used by a pool cleaning service that had various chemicals used in swimming pool maintenance in the truck.  A few containers spilled onto the street during the accident.

The LVFR HazMat Team responded to assist with the controlling and cleaning up of the chemicals involved.  The team neutralized the spilled material when they arrived on scene and then assisted the truck driver with the clean up of the residue.  The operation went smoothly.  There were no reported injuries to any members of the HazMat response team.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue operates a fully equipped full-time Hazardous Materials Response Team that responds all across Southern Nevada when needed.
