The city of Las Vegas will host a twitter chat on education issues in southern Nevada from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. The city has hosted several twitter chats, most recently with Councilman Steven D. Ross on the topic of medical marijuana. This chat is a first in that it will bring together a panel of experts to discuss an important community issue, including:
• Clark County School District Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky
• Nevada State Board of Education Vice President Allison Serafin
• Clark County Education Association Vice President Theo Small
• City of Las Vegas Community Resources Manager Brian Knudsen
Residents and social media enthusiasts are invited to take part by signing into their Twitter accounts and using #lveduchat during the scheduled time. The panelists will respond to as many Tweets and questions on the topic as possible.
Individuals who do not have Twitter accounts can still follow the chats by viewing the live Twitter feed on the city’s website, www.lasvegasnevada.gov. You can also follow the city at twitter.com/cityoflasvegas, the superintendent at @clarkcountysch, Allison Serafin at @vivaserafina, Theo Small at @vegastheo and @cceainfo, and Brian Knudsen at @brianclv and @dtachieves.
