Applications are now being accepted for participation in the 2014 Helldorado evening parade. Floats, equestrian units, marching bands, performers, car clubs, motorcycle clubs, individual motorized vehicles, walking groups and other types of entries are welcome to participate. Entries should pay tribute to the state of Nevada, in recognition of Nevada celebrating 150 years as a state. Entries will be judged on the Sesquicentennial theme. More information on the Sesquicentennial celebration can be found at www.nevada150.org. Participants will be notified after the parade if their entries won.
The parade will start downtown at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and is expected to last approximately two hours. The parade route heads north on Fourth Street from Gass to Ogden avenues. There is no fee to participate. The application with parade rules can be downloaded from the city’s website at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/helldorado and should be submitted no later than Monday, April 28. The first 120 qualified applications will be accepted. For more information on the Helldorado parade, call (702) 229-6672.
