The city will be holding two public meetings to discuss the Ward 3 Walkable Community Plan. The Ward 3 Walkable Community Plan assesses the ability of residents to walk to essential services and activities easily, safely and comfortably and provides recommendations for physical improvements such as crosswalks, completed sidewalks and adding shade trees along sidewalks. The plan does not change the zoning or land use designation of properties.
The purpose of these meetings is to present the draft plan to residents and business owners within the plan area, which is centered around the intersection of Sunrise and Eastern, a half-mile in each direction, and to get input on proposed recommendations. The first meeting will be held on April 22 at 6 p.m. at the Latin Chamber of Commerce, 2900 Stewart Ave. The second meeting will take place on April 29 at 6 p.m. at Howard Hollingsworth Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room, 1776 East Ogden Ave. More information is available online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/walk. The draft plan will be available on the website on April 17.
