The Las Vegas City Council is scheduled to vote on licensing regulations for medical marijuana at the Wednesday, June 4, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St. At the May 21 City Council meeting zoning regulations for medical marijuana were approved, and at tomorrow’s meeting the licensing regulations will be heard during item 33.
The City Council will also recognize the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Department as part of National CPR and AED Awareness Week and Cardiac Arrest Survival Week. Recently the city’s fire department was recognized by the American Heart Association for its work to treat cardiac arrests. The fire department has increased its cardiac save rate to 44 percent, ranking among the best in the country.
The City Council will also recognize the winning entries in the 2014 Helldorado Days Parade, as well as a local youth baseball team’s accomplishments.
Councilman Bob Coffin will recognize the June Citizen of the Month, Kathleen Kahr. Kahr has been instrumental in efforts to improve public safety in the historic Huntridge neighborhood in Ward 3.
Finally the City Council will recognize the achievements of the city’s adaptive recreation team.
