Wild Animal Permit

A wild animal permit is required for the following animals:

  • All monkeys and primates (excluding humans).
  • All cats (except domestic house cats).
  • All snakes over 8 feet long.
  • Coyotes.
  • Wolves and hybrid wolves.
  • Ferrets.
  • Lions.
  • Foxes.
  • Tigers.
  • Skunks and Raccoons.
  • All venomous reptiles.

Persons applying for a city of Las Vegas wild animal permit shall complete a wild animal permit application. A $25.00 fee shall be collected at the time the application is submitted. Wild animal permits can be approved or disapproved by the animal regulation officer or his designee only. An impound and boarding fee will also be collected when necessary.

Animals excluded from wild animal permits are:

  • Mice.
  • Gerbils.
  • Hamsters.
  • Spiders.
  • All fish.
  • Insects.
  • Rats.
  • Birds.
  • Chinchillas.
  • Guinea Pigs.
  • All non-venomous snakes under 8 feet.
  • Falcons/Falconers with state wildlife permit.
  • All domestic cats and dogs.
  • Any indigenous, non-venomous reptile,including iguanas
