Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program

The Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP) Grant provides up to $1,000 for projects that:

  • Are designed and carried out by young people with adults serving as leaders
  • Put the ideas of young people to work to address important neighborhood and community needs
  • Are neighborhood-based and led by neighborhood youth
  • Have a realistic budget and solid plans

YNAPP grants may be used for direct operations of the project or transportation costs (if needed). The majority of the grant money must be used to carry out the project.

Funding Process

To qualify for funding:

  • Projects must address a neighborhood or community need
  • Projects must consist of a youth group of three or more and have an adult advisor age 21 or older
  • Groups must match the grants with cash, volunteer labor donations or supplies

All applications for funding are reviewed by the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program Grant Review Board. The board, consisting of seven local youth and eight adults, listens to proposed grant applications and makes recommendations to the City Council.

The 2009 grant application process is now complete. Check back soon for information regarding the next opportunity to apply.
