Voter Registration

In-Person voter registration in the city clerk's office for Primary Election
First Day: Sunday, March 8, 2009, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, March 9 through Thursday, March 12, 2009, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, March 13 through Last Day: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In-Person voter registration in the city clerk's office for General Election
First Day: Sunday, May 3, 2009, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7, 2009, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, May 8 through Last Day: Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Where to Register to Vote
In-Person: You may register in person before a Field Registrar, who is a volunteer trained to register qualified residents on behalf of the Registrar of Voters, or at one of the following locations:

  • The Clark County Election Department (click on map to the right).
  • Any City Clerk's Office (click on map to Las Vegas City Clerk's Office to the right).
  • The Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Any Nevada State Welfare Agency or WIC Office.

By Mail: Mail-In Voter Registration Applications are available at:

  • The Election Department: Call 455-VOTE (8683) OR go to the Internet website (click on website to the right).
  • Any City Clerk's office.
  • Post Offices.
  • Most utility companies.
  • Libraries.
  • Political party headquarters.
  • Chambers of Commerce.
  • Some banks.

First-Time Registrants Must Vote In Person
First time registrants must vote in person the first time, i.e., not by mail, unless they:

  • Registered in person (rather than by mail) and presented official I.D., such as a Nevada driver’s license or Nevada I.D. card, at the Election Department, a City Clerk’s office or before a Field Registrar.
  • OR submitted a properly completed Voter Registration Application in person at the Department of Motor Vehicles,
  • OR notarized their request for a mail ballot,
  • OR requested the mail ballot in person at the Election Department and presented official I.D., e.g., Nevada driver’s license or I.D. card,
  • OR indicated in their WRITTEN mail ballot request that they are one or more of the following:
  • Disabled,
  • Confined due to illness,
  • Military personnel or the dependent of military personnel temporarily living outside of Nevada,
  • Clark County residents temporarily living overseas.
