Railroad Cottages

 Railroad Cottages
The railroad cottages were built between 1909 and 1911 by the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad for its mid-level workers.  Sixty-four units were completed on four square blocks between Casino Center and Fourth Street, Garces and Clark.  Today, only 13 of the small, bungalow style concrete block houses remain, with one located at the Clark County Heritage Museum.  The final three of the four cottages were moved to their new home at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve in December 2005!
