The city offers a "ticket home" to owners of currently licensed pets. This means that if your pet is impounded by a city Animal Control Officer and it displays a current license, it will be returned to you free of charge, providing:

• It is found within a one-mile radius of your home.
• Your pet has not been returned to you under the same program within the past six months.
• The animal is not displaying signs of aggression or has a biting history.
• The owner is home and willing to take possession of the animal.
