Equal Opportunity Contracting

The Equal Opportunity Contracting Program provides technical assistance to minority-owned, women-owned and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises (MWDVBEs) to give those organizations greater access to contracting and procurement opportunities with the city. To qualify as a MWDVBE an organization must be a business enterprise that is at least 51% owned by one or more minorities/women/disabled veterans who also control (exercise power to make policy decisions) and operate (actively involved in day-to-day management) the business. This is accomplished by:

  • Meeting one-on-one with MWDVBEs to help identify bidding opportunities
  • Facilitating meetings with MWDVBEs and other city staff
  • Advising MWDVBEs of the availability of other community resources

To arrange an appointment, please call (702) 229-6231.
