City Hall Artwork

City Hall features a number of original works of art in addition to two art galleries that will feature rotating exhibits. City Hall is open Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Closed Friday – Sunday and holidays.

Chamber GalleryChamber Gallery - 2nd floor near the Human Resources Department.
Current exhibit:
Flores para el Día de los Muertos. (Flowers for the Day of the Dead)
Sept. 12 - Nov. 7
This exhibit will feature work by local Hispanic-American artists exploring flowers and other objects that are part of the annual Day of the Dead celebration.

 

Grand Gallery

Grand Gallery - 1st floor lobby
Current exhibit:
“Sculptural Patterns: Life, Nature, and Reflections from the World We Live In”  - works by Bobbie Ann Howell
Aug. 29 - Nov. 14
This exhibition features patterns and designs created from observations in nature and the Nevada landscape – ideas crafted from life experiences intertwined with reflections influenced from the world we live in.

Other striking architectural features can be found in and around the building including the backlit sculpted glass “waterfall” staircase found in the lobby, 33 solar trees that shade the plaza in front of City Hall and artistically demonstrate the city’s commitment to renewable energy, and LED lighting on the front of the building that can display artistic patterns.
