Summerlin Parkway Rehabilitation Project Final Phase of Construction Wraps Up This Weekend
Final Work Phase Adds Third Westbound Travel Lane From U.S. Hwy. 95 To Buffalo Drive

The ongoing Summerlin Parkway rehabilitation project will be substantially completed this weekend as crews improve the roadway between U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard, and the 215 Beltway. This final phase of work will add a much-needed third lane for westbound travel between U.S. 95 and the Buffalo Drive exit.

This phase of work will also cause significant traffic delays and motorists are urged to use alternate routes this weekend. Traffic lane restrictions will be in effect in work zones as follows:

  • Through 8 p.m. tonight, May 29: Summerlin Parkway is reduced to one travel lane in each direction between the 215 Beltway and Town Center. No access ramps are affected during this work phase.
  • At approximately 8 p.m. tonight, through 8 p.m. Friday, May 30: Eastbound Summerlin Parkway will narrow to one travel lane between Town Center and Buffalo. No access ramps will be affected during this phase.
  • Starting at 6 a.m. Friday, May 30 through 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1: The westbound Summerlin Parkway exit at Buffalo will be closed and Summerlin Parkway westbound will be reduced to one lane. In addition, starting at 9 a.m., the southbound U.S. 95 to westbound Summerlin Parkway ramp will be closed.

Commuters who normally use the U.S. 95 southbound to westbound Summerlin Parkway ramp after 9 a.m. Friday should use Rainbow Boulevard or Lake Mead Boulevard while that ramp is closed. Evening commuters who use U.S. 95 northbound to go westbound on Summerlin Parkway should instead use the Rainbow or Lake Mead exits to avoid heavy congestion that will likely occur while that ramp is closed and Summerlin Parkway westbound is reduced to one lane. Eastbound Summerlin Parkway will not be impacted Saturday or Sunday.

This project is being managed by the city of Las Vegas Department of Field Operations. Southern Nevada Paving is the contractor. The construction activities should be completed on Sunday, June 1. Some minor close-out activities may occur the following week.
