Community Development Block Grant Eligible Areas Map

17" X 11" [3.03 MB]

The city's Neighborhood Services Department administers U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is used to support public service and construction activities, which benefit low- and moderate-income households.  Construction projects must be developed in eligible target areas that are located in the city (see Census Tract map).

The primary emphasis of the CDBG grant is to ensure that each public service or construction activity meets and complies with one of HUD's three broad national objectives, which are:

  1. Benefit to low-and moderate-income households and/or persons
  2. Prevention and/or elimination of slum and blight
  3. Addressing other community development needs having a particular urgency (Declared National Disaster)
