Community Emergency Response Team Honored As Part Of National Preparedness Month
Employee Of The Year Also To Be Recognized
|
| |
|
The Sun City Summerlin Community Emergency Response Team will be recognized at the Wednesday, Sept. 2, City Council meeting, which will take place at 9 a.m. in City Hall council chambers, located at 400 Stewart Ave.
Councilman Stavros S. Anthony will recognize the group as part of National Preparedness Month. National Preparedness Month encourages individuals to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, communities and businesses. Sun City Summerlin has been a leader in preparedness in the Las Vegas Valley with emergency response courses and training available to residents.
The City Council will also recognize Real Estate Specialist Julie Quisenberry as Employee of the Year for her work in bringing the Buy-Low Supermarket to Ward 5 and the creation of the Retail Downtown Las Vegas program designed to bring new businesses downtown.
The Building and Safety Department’s Extreme Home Makeover Team will be honored as the Team of the Quarter. The team members worked on their own time to make sure a Las Vegas family got a new home as part of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition earlier this year.
Mayor Pro Tem Gary Reese will recognize Apa Sherpa as the September Citizen of the Month, and he will also recognize Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma Awareness Month.
